Private Jet to Palm Beach

The Palm Beach season

DJT (once DJT) for private flyers, the fields nearby, and the season from December to April, with the holiday peaks and the lead times we suggest for each.

Where to land

DJT and the fields nearby.

Most private flights to Palm Beach use President Donald J. Trump International Airport, which went by Palm Beach International until July 2026. Two nearby fields serve houses further south, and North Palm Beach County’s general aviation airport can suit smaller aircraft bound for Jupiter.

Formerly Palm Beach International (PBI). A short drive to the island and West Palm Beach. Several private terminals, long runways for every size of jet, and the field most flights to Palm Beach use.

Month by month

December to April.

How each month tends to unfold for private flights to and from Palm Beach, with the weeks that fill first.

December

Early December is calm and a good time to fly down before the holidays. From around the middle of the month to the first days of January comes the busiest stretch of the winter: southbound before Christmas, northbound after New Year.

Christmas week

New Year

Suggested lead time
8–12 weeks for the holiday fortnight; 2–4 weeks earlier in the month
The pattern
South before Christmas, north after New Year

January

Once the holidays are over, demand drops back for a week or two, then builds again as the season settles in. Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend brings a burst of long-weekend trips.

Martin Luther King Jr. weekend

Suggested lead time
3–6 weeks; at least 6 for the long weekend
The pattern
Weekend trips build through the month

February

The heart of the season, with weekend flying in both directions and Presidents’ Day weekend among the busiest of the winter.

Presidents’ Day weekend

Suggested lead time
4–8 weeks for Presidents’ Day; 3–5 weeks otherwise
The pattern
Busy weekends, steady weekdays

March

Spring break adds families to the usual weekend traffic, with school holidays spread across the month.

School spring-break weeks

Suggested lead time
4–6 weeks for spring-break dates
The pattern
Family trips on top of weekend flying

April

Easter, when it falls in April, is the last great peak. After it the season turns north, and one-way flights to New York and beyond fill quickly.

Easter

The move north

Suggested lead time
4–6 weeks around Easter; 2–4 weeks for northbound one-ways
The pattern
Northbound one-ways late in the month

Before the season: Thanksgiving week is often the first rush south. If you plan to arrive for the holiday, six to eight weeks ahead is sensible.

Lead times

When to book each part of the season.

Suggestions, not rules: the further ahead, the wider the choice of aircraft. Short-notice trips are often possible outside the peaks.
